After testing and verification of a concept there is usually a major transition to a new kind of Work. Generally the function of this work is to utilize the fruit of our new and useful understanding or discovery. One might think that the Eureka Moment is the cusp or denouement of the creative process, but from a business point of view moving from Verification to Utilization is the most important cusp. Either a change in talents or a change in personalities may be required for real success.
Originally I thought up the category Utilization more because I thought I needed it than because there were ample quotes to be found that represented good examples. Utilization of a creative idea requires a diversity of talents. I think it is difficult to find good examples because a short terse poster-worthy text would not easily cover all the necessary actions and talents that superior utilization might require. Generally my search for good examples of utilization quotes fall in four broad categories, 1) Opportunity search and recognition, 2) Salesmanship, 3) Execution, and 4) Follow up
Here is the major change in the work. Edward De Bono says it succinctly: " With a problem you search for the solution, with an opportunity you search for the benefit." Root Bernstein's character: Hunter in his book "Discovering" says: It can be damn hard if you're a Mendel or an Einstein and you've invented the problem as well as the solution. Then you have to convince your colleagues to accept a shocking solution to a problem most didn't know they had!

Being an independent inventor is tough. You develop a product, patent it, then you're looking for someone who will see the benefit from this technology. You assume all the investment and all the risk. It can be a challenge.
-Lonnie Johnson
There is no short cut to opportunity search and development. Deliberate thinking time is required. The more of that we can risk the less we risk other resources. Nor should it be imagined that the thinking time is wasted if the opportunity is turned down. That thinking investment may prove useful in another situation later on.

The above posters are (A - ) from my poster collection. I will be publishing more posters later. The following table Displays the position of these posters in my classification of Phases and Topics of the Creative Process. My posts will follow the order of the following table. This post is S.1 on the Utilization and Innovation. It is S point 1 because I have many more posters on this topic and anticipate posting more as S.2 etc.
……………………More Quote-Posters for the S.2 Utilization and Innovation phase…………..
List of the Phases and Topics correlated to the Steps in the Scientific Method. These phases and topics have been derived from study of quotations from many creative individual from many fields of endeavor.
My goal is to publish quote poster collections on A through W as individual posts, eventually. Currently my quote collection numbers over 4,000 and my poster collection includes nearly 1,400 different individuals.
